Diving in Full Force

So here I am again on the freelance blogging scene. I haven't made up my mind what this niche blog should be about but I'm at least trying. Recently I have gained a whole new genre of client from the automotive industry which has been a good and trying experience for me.

I've been writing press releases, and since I was just an English major in college (not a Public Relations one) I have been experiencing something new. We have released press works from PRWeb and the stories has been picked up all over the country. Marketing writing is a whole different beast than website writing, though some of the elements of SEO writing are involved.

I've also started creating short commercials which I haven't done since video production class in high school. That has also been time consuming but really fun. I don't have the equipment I did at the high school video lab, but I'm still making do.

The past few months I also went freelance from my part-time physics journal job. Editing on a 9-5 schedule was something I always wanted straight out of college, but we can't always have everything especially in an economy like this. The good news is that I still work with this client on a regular basis, just a different pay model. There's good and bad in both being employed or freelance. I thought I would have preferred the employed option, but I have to say the freelance money can be good.

I'm thinking of taking this blog in a professional freelance manner or a whimsy, fun editing blog. I'm still not sure even after this long employment rant. We'll see how it goes. Or if you have an idea, let me know!
